Ricebird fullback runs for four scores as El Campo rolls over Brazosport

      On the night that he was crowned homecoming king, Anthony Terrell had a performance worthy of his new title. The Ricebird fullback ran for 201 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries and anchored his team to a 34-7 win over the Brazosport Exporters Friday.

Hornets run through Charlotte for road W

      After a tough district-opening loss to Shiner last week, the Louise Hornets rebounded in a big way. Road games are never easy, but Louise came through with a 12-6 win over the Charlotte Trojans. The Hornets enjoyed an early lead in the game and held on for the win.

LHS girls stay in first with win

      Louise came away with an easy win Tuesday to remain undefeated in district volleyball play. The Lady Hornets traveled to Tivoli and came home with a 3-0 win and a 4-0 district record. Louise easily swept the match with wins of 25-4, 25-8 and 25-8.

Mikeska's Monster
      Donna Mikeska reeled in this massive marlin during a trip in Mexico. She snared the estimated 400 to 450-pound, 10 feet, seven inch fish about 38 miles off the coast of Puerto Vallarta Sept. 24 after a 1.45-hour battle with no help from her crew.

      El Campo's cross country teams ran in Needville last Saturday and one squad came out on top. The varsity girls team took top prize at the Needville Meet. Anchored by top-10 finishes by all six girls, including first place by Angel Brooks, El Campo brought home the team championship plaque.
