STAR program reaches out to those in need
      As families face difficulties in raising their children today, there is assistance for both parents and kids. Services to At-Risk Youth (STAR) is designed to serve families and children up to age 17. Meetings, which are held to address family issues, are sponsored by Texana MHMR.

Shanks claims title at HLSR Top Hands Horse Show event
      Grant Shanks, the eight-year-old son of Ken Shanks and the late Pam Shanks, and grandson of Sherry Stanley, won king of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Top Hands Horse Show. The three-day event was held at the Reliant horse arena Feb. 28-29 and March 1.
