Sanitizer Available For Businesses

City Development Corporation is distributing free 32-ounce bottles of hand sanitizer for businesses. Pick up between 2 - 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23 at the Northside Center, 707 Fahrenthold. There will also be free face painting for kids of all ages.

Fall Festival Two Day Event

The Louise-Hillje Chamber of Commerce is holding its 14th annual Fall Festival and BBQ Cook-Off Friday and Saturday, Sept. 24 - 25 at the Rice Mill property in downtown Louise. Adriana Live will take to the stage 7 - 11 p.m. Friday; DJ Blake George will provide music from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. There will be vendor booths on Saturday, a pumpkin decorating contest and cook-off winners announced at approximately 4 p.m. Saturday.

Youth Group Selling Bake Goods

St. Robert’s youth group is having a bake sale inside parish hall from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25. All proceeds will fund the youth group’s activities and scholarships.

Color Run Benefits CASA

Color Me CASA 5K Color Run/Walk & Children’s Dash is set for Saturday, Sept. 25 at Freedom Park in Angleton. Proceeds will benefit Gulf Coast CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) which serves the counties of Brazoria, Matagorda and Wharton. Participants can register online at (search for Color Me CASA). St. Philip Hosts Drive-Thru Meal

The annual all-day picnic hosted by St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church set for Sunday, Sept. 26 has been cancelled however, they will still be hosting a drive-thru meal at the Columbus Club. Barbecue beef and sausage plates are available for $12 per plate. Homemade goodies will also be for sale in the drive-thru line while they last. Raffle tickets will be on sale and the drawing held at a later date, as well as the online auction at a later date, too. For tickets or other information, call the church rectory at 543-3770.

Little League To Hold Meeting

The El Campo Little League will hold its annual meeting at Zlotnik Park, 303 West Loop, at 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 27. Board of directors will be elected during this meeting. St. John Church Plans Festival

St. John Catholic Church in Hungerford is having their annual bazaar Sunday, Oct. 3 at Hungerford Hall. The day begins with Mass at 9:30 a.m., followed by a barbecue dinner, dine-in or to-go, starting at 10:30 a.m. Music by the Blue Denim Band will be from 1 - 5 p.m. There will also be a live auction.

Event Supports Life Choice

The first Sunday in October is designated as Life Chain Sunday, and all across the United States people will gather to publicly support life and protest legalized abortion. Life Chains are a public, peaceful, prayerful witness to the sanctity of every human life. All are invited and encouraged to participate in this year’s event, 2 - 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3 at the intersection of Highways 59 and 71 (downtown El Campo). Third Thursdays Feature Food, Music And Shopping

The Wharton Downtown Business Association is hosting Third Thursdays featuring food trucks, entertainment and a night of shopping. Third Thursday will take place each month from 5 - 8 p.m.

Bluebonnet Extension Assorted Nuts For Sale

Members of the Bluebonnet Extension Education Club are selling pecans and other assorted nuts.
