Nominations Being Accepted

The El Campo Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture is accepting nominations for the 2017 Citizen of the Year. The Citizen of the Year is a lifetime achievement award. The deadline for nominations is Friday, Dec. 29. Nomination letters can be delivered to the Chamber Office at 01 N. Mechanic or by mail to P.O. Box 1400 El Campo, TX 77437. Nominations can also be emailed to ecc@elcampochamber.com. Danevang Museum Hosts Santa Lucia Celebration

The Santa Lucia Christmas celebration will be held from 2 - 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Danevang Heritage Preservation Building in Danevang. There will be singing, crafts, refreshments and a visit from Santa Claus. For information, call Patty Jensen, 543-3009.

31st Annual Christmas Mall To Be Two Days

The El Campo Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 31st Annual Christmas Mall Saturday, Dec. 2 and Sunday, Dec. 3 at the El Campo Civic Center on North Mechanic. The indoor show will have craft and food booths both days. Limited space is still available. Applications can be found on the Chamber website- www.elcampochamber.com.

BBQ Benefit Helps With Medical Expenses

Eighth Annual Jingle Bell Run Open To All

The Presbyterian Preschool PTO hosts their Eighth Annual Jingle Bell Run, a 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Race benefiting the Preschool, on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. Entry fee is $30 per adult, $10 per child. St. John’s Scholarship Party Dec. 3

St. John’s Scholarship Games Party will be Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Taiton Community Center at 6 p.m. There will be games, door prizes, drawings, auctions and a visit from Santa Claus from 4 - 6 p.m. There will be plenty of refreshments and proceeds will benefit the youth of St. John’s.

Wharton County Toys for Tots is collecting new toys for children now through mid-December. The El Campo Leader-News is just one of the drop off locations in El Campo. Manna Meals Offers Food, Fellowship

Manna Meals is offered at no cost every Monday and Thursday from 5 - 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. TOPS Meeting On Weekly Basis

Bulletin Board is a community service to promote one-time events for nonprofit organizations. The Leader-News requests only one representative submit items with contact information. Items will be edited. Event submissions will run no more than four editions immediately prior to the event as space permits. Garage sale fundraisers, church auctions (not part of a larger event) and raffles do not qualify. All items submitted must arrive no later than 3 p.m. Mondays for the Wednesday edition and 3 p.m. Thursdays for the Saturday edition.
