Celebration of Life 2020 ornaments are ready for pick up. Anyone who purchased an ornament from El Campo and had it on the tree at the El Campo Civic Center can pick the ornaments up from the office at 1102 N. Mechanic , Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Ornaments purchased for Wharton, not previously picked up, will be at Selections on the Square in Wharton.
Bingo Games Resume
El Campo American Legion Bingo will resume bingo games on Friday, Jan. 22. According to CDC guidelines, seating will be limited. Social distancing will be practiced and face masks are required. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and card sales start at 6 p.m. with games beginning at 7 p.m. Snack bar and bar will be open.

Chili Bowl Saturday
The El Campo Bowling Center is holding their Chili Bowl event Saturday, Jan. 30. Check in is at 8 a.m. with the bowling tournament beginning at noon. There will be a two-person tailgate with auctions and awards at 2 p.m. The event will hold a cook off, car show, washer tournament, 50/50 raffle with live and silent auctions. The 2021 Western Rice Belt Consumer’s Conference has been canceled due to the current COVID-19 situation. The Consumer’s Conference Committee hopes the conference will resume in 2022. The Producer’s Conference will be held virtually.
annual mlk SCHOLARSHIP
The annual MLK service and march has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, if cases go down, the celebration may take place in the summer. Manna Meals Pick-Up Only
Manna Meals is offered at no cost 5 - 6:30 p.m. every Monday and Thursday in a convenient drive-through at 500 Foerster (between Fourth and Fifth) in El Campo. Meals are prepared by members of local congregations. For information, call 505-9362 or email@example.com.
Rotary Club of El Campo Collecting Sneakers
El Campo Rotarians are collecting used and new sneakers for Got Sneakers, to help those in other countries who have no shoes at all. The local club will receive $3 for each new pair of sneakers and $1 for each pair in good condition. Money goes to Polio Plus. Boxes are at City Hall, the Civic Center, the El Campo Leader-News, Northside Education Center and St. Philip Catholic School after the holidays. The drive ends Jan. 29.
