Pumpkin Patch Offers Fun For All
Theta Delta’s Annual Pumpkin Patch will be held Saturday, Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. until noon at Evans Park. There will be activities for kids and plenty of photo opportunities. There is a $10 admission fee for families. Fees apply for additional activities.

Czech Festival Being Held In Taiton
The 8th Annual Dozinky Harvest Festival is taking place at the Taiton Community Center from noon until 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. There will be a traditional Czech meal served, silent auction, entertainment and special guest appearance of the Czech Queen from Williamson County. There will also be a country store with homemade noodles and canned vegetables, sauerkraut and jellies. Representatives from the Texas Czech Cultural Center in La Grange will also have a booth. Admission is $5 for those 18 and older.

Meal Assists With Medical Expenses
A fundraiser will be held Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the El Campo Civic Center for Bryan Charbula to help defray medical expenses. Pink Out Pep Rally
El Campo High School will be holding their Pink Out Pep Rally Thursday, Oct. 17, 7:30 p.m. at the Ricebird Stadium. All are welcome to come and show their support for the El Campo High School Band as head to UIL competition Saturday, Oct. 19 in Ganado. October is breast cancer awareness month, therefore a bake sale will be held with proceeds going to research. Come out and sport your best pink wear. State Health Insurance Assistance Program Counselor Alex Rischan will be at the El Campo Branch Library every third Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. to offer advice and aid in making sense of Medicare. One-on-one counseling will be given at no cost to you.
Heritage Center Offers Exercise, Bingo
The Heritage Center, 803 Fahrenthold, a non-profit organization, is open to men and women 50 and older for a $50 fee collected every January. The center, open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., offers use of exercise machines, “Silver Sneakers” chair exercise sessions, pool table, dominoes, lending library, lap top computers, games, bingo and opportunities to volunteer. Covered dish luncheons are held once a month.
