Project Grad Seniors Host Meal
El Campo High School Class of 2018 will hold a Project Graduation fried chicken dinner at the Columbus Club in El Campo, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17. Tickets can be purchased by calling Tana Martin, 541-9908. Plates can be purchased that day as well. The meal is drive-thru only.

Catholics Host Annual Picnic
St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church Parish Picnic will be Sunday, Sept. 24 at the Columbus Hall (KC). Barbecue beef and sausage plates, $10 each, will be served starting at 11 a.m., dine-in or carry out. Event includes games, country store, auction and music. Mass will be held at the church at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 and 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24.

A chicken fried steak dinner benefiting the Crisis Centers of Matagorda and Wharton counties will be drive-thru only, $10 per plate, 5 - 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Mikeska’s Lunch Box, 218 Merchant. TOPS Meeting On Weekly Basis
TOPS Club, Inc. (Take Pounds Off Sensibly) will have a weekly chapter meeting from 9 - 10 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Northside Education Center, Room 105. Meetings focus on nutrition, exercise, motivation and wellness education. Those who are interested are welcome to attend.
Chamber Accepting Vendors For Prairie Days
The El Campo Chamber of Commerce is accepting vendor applications for Prairie Days Festival Saturday, Oct. 7 at Alamo Park. The festival welcomes food and craft vendors, along with vendors offering children’s activities. Applications can be picked up at the Chamber office, 01 N. Mechanic. For information, call 543-2713.

Manna Meals Offers Food, Fellowship
Manna Meals is offered at no cost every Monday and Thursday from 5 - 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. Meals are prepared then served by local congregations at 500 Foerster (between Fourth and Fifth Streets in El Campo). Legion Hosts Friday Night Bingo
American Legion Post 251 hosts bingo on Fridays, with doors opening at 5 p.m., card sales at 6 p.m. and games at 7 p.m. Snack bar will be open.
Local Library Offers Free Programs
The El Campo Branch Library, 200 W. Church, is open six days a week: Monday 9:30 a.m. - 8 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Programs include story time for children ages 3 - 5 at 10:15 a.m. each Tuesday and toddler time for those ages 6 months to age 3 at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesdays. Heritage Center Offers Exercise, Bingo
The Heritage Center, a non-profit organization with a $50 membership fee, is open to men and women 50 and older. The center, open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., offers use of exercise machines, “Silver Sneakers” chair exercise sessions for those 63 years and older, pool table, dominoes, lending library, lap top computers, games, bingo and opportunities to volunteer. Covered dish luncheons are held once a month. The center is located at 803 Fahrenthold.

Bulletin Board is a community service to promote one-time events for nonprofit organizations. The Leader-News requests only one representative submit items with contact information. Items will be edited. Event submissions will run no more than four editions immediately prior to the event as space permits. Garage sale fundraisers and raffles do not qualify. All items submitted must arrive no later than 3 p.m. Mondays for the Wednesday edition and 3 p.m. Thursdays for the Saturday edition.
