Stories Needed For Bridal Magazine
Want to be featured in the 2018 El Campo Leader-News bridal magazine? We are in need of your input to be included in the edition. The feature idea focuses on unique wedding proposals. Brides can share how their husband proposed to them and why that moment was so special. Please include the following information to be considered in the magazine:
1. Your story written in detail.
2. Photos of the proposal, if any were taken.
3. Wedding photos and current photo(s).
4. Include your name, day-time phone number(s), date you were married and where you live.
Your story and photos must be submitted by email or mail no later than 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Food Donations Sought
H&R Block and Helping Hands is accepting food and other donations at the business office through midApril. Helping Hands will later distribute items as needed.

American Legion Post 251 and the Auxiliary Unit 251 will hold their executive meetings Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall.

Wharton Garden Club Hosts Meeting
Wharton Garden Club will hold its next meeting on Thursday, Jan. 11, from 9 – 11 a.m. at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church (parish hall), 207 Bob-o-Link Lane in Wharton. Brunch refreshments are provided. Lisa Bubela will show how to make a “tussy mussy bouquet.” Everyone is welcome. Membership is $10 per year.

St. Philip Hosts Youth Dinner
St. Philip Catholic School youth fried chicken dinner and drawing will be Sunday, Jan 14 at the Columbus Club Hall beginning at 11 a.m. Plates are to go only. There is a donation of $10 per plate. Tickets for dinner and drawing are available from high school CCE students, St. Philip Rectory, or call Marilyn Goerig at 541-9264.

The 100 Club Hosts Annual Membership Meeting
The 100 Club of Wharton County, Inc. will host its Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, Jan. 18, at the El Campo Civic Center. Sign Up For Scholarship Basketball Tournament
The first annual scholarship basketball tournament will be held Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Willie Bell Park in memory of DeAndre Bluntson. The entry fee for a team of seven, ages 18 and up, is $100 and due by Feb. 1. The entry fee for ages 12-14 and 15-17 is $50 per team and also due by Feb. 1. Contact Christie Edison at 332-1054.
Manna Meals Offers Food, Fellowship
Manna Meals is offered at no cost every Monday and Thursday from 5 - 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. Meals are prepared then served by local congregations at 500 Foerster (between Fourth and Fifth Streets in El Campo). TOPS Meeting On Weekly Basis
TOPS Club, Inc. (Take Pounds Off Sensibly) will have a weekly chapter meeting from 9 - 10 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Northside Education Center, Room 105. Meetings focus on nutrition, exercise, motivation and wellness education.

Bulletin Board is a community service to promote one-time events for nonprofit organizations. The Leader-News requests only one representative submit items with contact information. Items will be edited. Event submissions will run no more than four editions immediately prior to the event as space permits. Garage sale fundraisers, church auctions (not part of a larger event) and raffles do not qualify. All items submitted must arrive no later than 3 p.m. Mondays for the Wednesday edition and 3 p.m. Thursdays for the Saturday edition.
