Residents agree family, friends most important aspects of life

Posted: Wednesday, January 3, 2018 12:15 am

Sunday, New Year’s Eve, was a time to say goodbye to 2017 and hello to 2018. It’s also the time of year where many people find themselves reflecting on memories from the past. At Garden Villa Health Care Center in El Campo, a few of the residents were doing just that.

Wanda Thurman, age 90, is not a native of El Campo, however she moved here when she married, and has lived here since. She has one son who lives locally, and one grandson in Austin. Thurman enjoys recollecting memories in the company of others, reminding them it wasn’t that long ago when life was quite different.
