The Wharton County Commissioners Court adopted a proclamation Monday declaring March 2, 2023, as Texas Independence Day in Wharton County. “I encourage all citizens to remember those brave 59 men who declared our independence and to read and learn more about the wonderful history of our great state of Texas,” said County Judge Phillip Spenrath.
