Incoming officers installed during candlelight ceremony A candlelight ceremony was held to install incoming officers of the El Campo Prairie Switch 4-H Club Monday. Linda Cerny, first vice president, coordinated the installation of new officers. The group met at the El Campo Knights of Columbus Hall. Prior to the induction ceremony, Stephanie Korenek, president, called the meeting to order. Cody Seaman led the Pledge of Allegiance and Shelby Seaman led the Texas pledge. Colby Snyder led the 4-H motto and pledge, while Brooke Staff did the 4-H prayer. The 4-H Parents' Pledge was led by Jeff and Mindi Snyder. Sarah Supak did roll call with each 4-H member naming his or her favorite ice cream flavor. Cody Seaman gave the treasurer's report, followed by the announcement of birthday honorees for the months of August and September. They were Richard Lormand, Bailey Popp, Vicki Cerny, Sarah Supak, Shelby Snyder, Jeremy Supak, Rebecca Korenek, Clayton Harkins, Clay Glaze and Kacey Knesek. Vicki Cerny, third vice president, reported the club had lost three members and gained four. The new members are Richard Lormand, Kyle Mamerow, Macey Knesek and Michelle Sutton. Historian Morgan Eggemeyer asked the group to provide photographs for the club's scrapbook . She explained for each month they bring photos, their name will be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate. Telephone committee chairman Robert Lormand asked if all members received a call or e-mail notification of the meeting. Various other reports were then given. There will be a 4-H poster contest at the next meeting in October, which will be the 100th anniversary of the 4-H program. All 4-H enrollment forms are due at this meeting. Dates, changes and rules for the Wharton County Youth Fair were reviewed and discussed. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m., Oct. 1 at the KC Hall. |
