4-H club finalizes fund-raiser

Hillje-Louise 4-H Club members met for their regular meeting Monday evening at the Wharton County Electric Coop community room.

President Kelsey Supak called the meeting to order. David Otradovsky led the United States Flag pledge; Fred Goynes led the 4-H pledge and the parent's pledge was recited by all parents.

As an ice breaker David Otradovsky led the group in forming the human pretzel.

Minutes were read by Secretary Colleen Mauch, and treasurer's report was given by Megan Socha.

Club manager Sara Weathers presented a program on 'Handshakes and Name Tags." She demonstrated the proper way to shake an individual's hand and wear a name tag.

The club's upcoming fundraiser, a pork steak dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Staff's, was finalized and duties discussed.

Prize drawing tickets for the Wharton County 4-H drawing were distributed. The drawing will be at the Wharton County Food Show on Nov. 3. Tickets are available from any 4-H member.

A drawing was held for door prizes, the 4-H member winner of a tree swing was Matthew Thonsgaard and the adult winner of a gift card was Randa Mauch.

The next meeting will be at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 8 at WCEC. It will be a Halloween party.
