Saddle Club members given updates on new rules

The 4-H Saddle Club met Monday evening with President Shelby Rod calling the meeting to order.

Cheyenne Morton led the pledge and Michaela Bram led the 4-H pledge.

Enrollment forms are due Sept. 17. Prize drawing tickets are due Oct. 29.

New rules at the Wharton County Youth Fair regards parents who will be required to work 3 hours per child if their child participates in the Sale of Excellence. Parents can sign up by calling Susan George before April 1.

For community service, Chairperson Jillian Jeane collected used books to give to a charitable organization.

Rod gave a list of important dates for everyone to remember.

Jo Cain, parent leader, talked about a goat clinic she attended and gave the group important information. She is willing to help any way she can. They are also doing the bucket calf again this year and it was stated that children do not have to be member of a 4-H group to enter this event at the fair.

Record book was discussed and Mrs. Rod is going to see about having someone come and talk to the group about what is needed to enter a record book at the end of the year.
