L-N FOOTBALL CONTEST WEEK 2 Week 2 of the Leader-News Football Contest was a tricky one. Several entries missed the mark as it was filled with a few upset games. Several people missed on the Michigan-Oregon and Georgia- South Carolina games this week causing many marked up entries when everything was tallied. There were plenty of threegame misses this week, but to win, they had to be better than that. Even Chris Barbee and Kris Bagley of the Leader-News never had a chance. Bagley missed five games while Barbee missed on four. The entire contest came down to three entries. Tracy Oldag, James Voldan and Betty Roades each missed only two games, forcing a look at Tiebreaker 1 to determine everything and they were all three separated by a total of three points. The Houston Texans defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 20-3, leaving the total points at 23 for the correct answer of the tiebreaker. Of the three entrants, Voldan was the closest with his guess of 38 points and will receive a $25 check and a $25 dine-in credit at the El Campo Pizza Hut. Roades took second with her guess of 39 points and wins a check for $15. Oldag's guess of 40 points was good enough to finish third for a $10 check. Entry forms and rules are available on the contest page and also online at www.leadernews. com. Cash prizes are paid by the sponsors found on the contest page. |
