Felons plead guilty, sentenced in court Several Wharton County residents will be behind prison bars after pleading guilty to felony crimes in the 329th District Court during August hearings. Among those entering into plea bargain agreements before Judge Daniel Sklar were: • Joe Paul Rodriguez, 32, address unavailable, for possession of a controlled substance. He was placed on three years deferred probation and ordered to pay $250 restitution. Rodriguez was also ordered to enroll in a drug rehabilitation program. With deferred probation, the conviction won't be held against Rodriguez if he is able to complete all terms. • Natividad Garcia, 39, of 1212 Laredo in Mission for possession of marijuana. He was placed on 10 years deferred probation, fined $1,500 and ordered to pay $250 restitution. Garcia must also serve 90 days in county jail. • Kendron Latret Taylor, 22, of 511 Doris in El Campo for assault of a public servant. He was sentenced to two years in prison for the assault of an El Campo police officer. Charges of possession of a controlled substance and intent to deliver were set aside in exchange for the guilty plea. • Alvis Wendel Simmons, 50, of 307 Hughes in Wharton for possession of a controlled substance. He was placed on 10 years probation, fined $750 and ordered to perform 180 hours community service. Simmons also must pay $250 restitution and install an interlock device on his vehicle. • Jameil Ray Robinson, 21, of 719 Marionette for possession of a controlled substance. He was placed on five years deferred probation, fined $200 and ordered to pay $250 restitution. Robinson also must perform 240 hours community service. Charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver were set aside in exchange for the guilty plea. • David Garcia, 31, of 2606 Gardenia in San Juan for possession of marijuana. He was placed on eight years deferred probation, fined $500 and ordered to pay $250 restitution. Garcia also must perform 240 hours community service. • Bruce Eugene Revis Jr., 21, of 309 Moutray in Wharton for possession of a controlled substance. He was placed on two years probation, fined $150 and ordered to pay $250 restitution. Revis also must perform 60 hours community service. • Mindy Lou Chiesa, 18, of 1105 Wright in El Campo for hindering apprehension or prosecution. She was placed on five years deferred probation, fined $250 and ordered to perform 180 hours community service. • Walter Lee Crump, 36, of 1701 N. Richmond Rd. #26 in Wharton for assault - family violence. He was placed on two years deferred probation and fined $200. • Juan Garcia Juarez aka Mario Lopez Solis, 22, of an unknown address on Ruth Street in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance. He was placed on two years probation, fined $300 and ordered to pay $250 restitution. Juarez also must perform 300 hours community service. • Roberto Flores, 42, of 1111 Broadway #4 in Port Lavaca for driving while intoxicated. He was placed on eight years probation, fined $300 and ordered to install an interlock device on his vehicle. Flores' driver's license was also suspended for 180 days. • Crystal Voldan, 25, of 2819 Myatt Lane in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to six months in state jail and ordered to pay $250 restitution. |
