Hornets fall in last seconds to Indians

      Injuries plagued the Hornets and ruined what started out as a great threat of an homecoming upset Friday in Ganado. Despite two key Hornets leaving the game, Louise gave a great effort and lost to the Indians 20-13 in the last seconds of the game.

Louise tries county rival, falls 3-1

      The Lady Hornets hosted Boling Tuesday in one of Louise's closest volleyball matches to date. Even though Louise lost in four games with scores of 21-25, 28-26, 24-26 and 22- 25, the Lady Hornets proved they could stay with pretty much any team - even with a much bigger Boling squad.

      Two El Campo graduates competed in the John Mohmann Memorial Tournament Monday and Tuesday in Seguin. Derek Treybig, on the University of Texas at Dallas team, and Travis Johnson, on the University of Texas at Tyler golf team, both graduated from El Campo this past fall.

      El Campo's cross country team traveled to Sealy Saturday and took on several runners in a tough competition. Angel Brooks, Laura Echeverria and Ruben Rivera led the varsity honors at the meet. They each earned a top-15 finish.

LADY 'BIRD & LADY HORNET VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT UPDATE
      El Campo Lady 'Birds While the Lady 'Birds rallied for a thirdplace finish in the Edna Tournament earlier this month, one key member brought home a big honor. Kelsey Gangl was named to the All- Tournament team because of her great play throughout the event.
