Injuries plagued the Hornets and ruined what started out as a great threat of an homecoming upset Friday in Ganado.

Despite two key Hornets leaving the game, Louise gave a great effort and lost to the Indians 20-13 in the last seconds of the game.

Louise's biggest loss on the night may have been quarterback Nick Barrera and running back C.J. Clements in the first half with knee injuries.

"Barrera just was running on the first play from scrimmage and just planted wrong," Head Coach Rodney Dowell said. "We're not real sure, but it has the potential to be bad. C.J. has a knee too, but he just kind of took a shot there. I think he'll be OK. We're a little more concerned with Barrera."

Both Hornets will be examined by a doctor today.

The most exciting part of the game was clearly the end.

Tied 13-13 in the fourth quarter, the Indians made a game-changing drive.

Ganado capped an 80-yard, seven minute and 20 second drive to score the winning touchdown with only 10 clicks left on the scoreboard clock to avoid an overtime situation.

Louise punted from its 34 to give the Indians the ball at their own 20 with 7:30 left in the game. Facing tremendous pressure from Louise's Javier Padron, Ganado QB Jared Atzenhoffer managed to complete a 20-yard pass. He later kept to advance the ball to the Hornet 46.

Ganado methodically marched the ball deep into Louise territory, but a 29-yard pass to the Hornet 6 with 1:16 remaining looked like a fatal blow.

Louise's defense stiffened, however. Facing a third and goal at the Hornet 5 with 17 seconds left, Atzenhoffer appeared to be stopped off-tackle, but was able to get free, roll right and dive into the corner of the end zone with 10 seconds left.

The kick was good and Louise was down - but not out. The Indians tried an onside kick which Louise recovered at the Indian 49. A fumble on the first snap moved the ball to the Hornet 49 with 5 seconds left. A Hornet fleaflicker was good for 26 yards, but time had run out. Ganado won 20-13.

The game started off with a Louise explosion.

Antwon Parson ran the game's opening kickoff back 80 yards for the touchdown. Barrera connected on the extra point and Louise led 7-0 to start the game.

The Hornets scored once more in the first half when Kyle Lawson ran for a 6-yard touchdown with 11:36 remaining in the second quarter. The extra point missed, but Louise had a major lead at halftime, 13-0.

The Indians came back with two touchdowns to tie the game before their late touchdown to win the game.
