COURT REPORTS Plea Agreements Prison terms were handed down in the 329th District Court during final August pleading and probation revocation hearings. Those accepting sentence were: • Jeremy Lee Acuna, 25, address unavailable for possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to six months in state jail with credit for 20 days already served. In separate court actions, his probation for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, tampering with physical evidence and debit card abuse was revoked. He was sentenced to a concurrent two years in prison with credit for 21 months served. • Joel Solis, 18, address unavailable for tampering with physical evidence. He was placed on six years deferred probation with a requirement to serve 60 days in county jail. Solis must also perform 240 hours community service and pay $250 restitution. • Ivan Tracy Valenzuela, 34, of 511 E. Norris for failure to register as a sex offender. He was sentenced to two years in prison with credit for 25 days served. Valenzuela also pleaded guilty to burglary of habitation and was sentenced to a concurrent two years in prison for that offense. • Gerardo Ibarra, 22, of 601 Ridge Hill in Burleson for possession of a controlled substance. His probation was revoked and he was sentenced to six months in state jail with credit for 137 days already served. • Andre Batilla, 27, address unavailable for possession of a controlled substance. His probation was revoked and he was sentenced to six months in state jail with credit for the full time served. In separate pleadings, his probation for deadly conduct and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon by threat was revoked and he was sentenced to a concurrent two years in prison with credit for 21 months served. • Charles Allen Axel, 27, address unavailable for theft by check. His probation was revoked and he was sentenced to one year in state jail with credit for time already served.drug indicts Indictments Several El Campo residents are facing felony trial for alleged drug crimes following September deliberations of the Wharton County Grand Jury. Although an indictment is not an indication of guilt, it does show a citizen jury felt prosecutors had enough evidence against a person to proceed with felony charges. Those facing trials for alleged drug use or trafficking include: • Clarence Barfield aka Clarence Barefield, 29, off 121 Clements in Angleton for possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly had less than one gram of cocaine on Feb. 16. Barfield has a prior felony conviction for robbery. • Gabriel Bustamante, 35, of 607 Main in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly had less than one gram of cocaine on July 15. Bustamante has two prior felony convictions for burglary of a building. • Robert Cano, 26, of 1412 Mesquite in Victoria for possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly had 28 to 200 grams of codeine on Oct. 9, 2006. • Christian Joel Garza, 24, of 2415 S. Voss #K-13 in Houston for money laundering. He allegedly had between $100,000 and $200,000 in alleged drug cash on July 31. • Jerrica James, 36, of 121 Clements in Angleton for possession of a controlled substance. She allegedly had less than on gram of cocaine on Feb. 16. • Louis Anthony Lomas, 45, of 50 West 71st in Chicago, Ill., for money laundering and evading arrest or detention. He allegedly had more than $200,000 in drug cash May 19 when he used a vehicle to flee from a Department of Public Safety trooper. • San Juanita Martinez, 43, of 607 Main in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance. She allegedly had less than one gram of cocaine on July 15. • Stiven Ospina, 20, of 1711 Milam in Victoria for two counts of money laundering. He allegedly had more than $1,500 in drug cash on June 14. • Victor Sodia, 43, of 2726 E. Alabama in Wharton for possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly had less than 1 gram of cocaine on Feb. 16. • Jonathan Chris Vega, 18, of 508 Lundy in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. He allegedly had less than 1 gram of cocaine within 1,000 feet of El Campo High School on June 1. • Jermaine Williams, 26, of 105 Cedar in Louise for two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of intent to deliver. He allegedly had 4 to 200 grams of cocaine and less than 1 gram of ecstasy on June 23 with the intent to sell. Williams has three prior felony convictions for delivery of a controlled substance. |
