Ft. Bend Co. Fair featuring concerts, rodeos & midway The 2007 Fort Bend County Fair, scheduled for Sept. 28 through Oct. 6, has something for everyone: starstudded concerts, youth agricultural and talent competitions, rodeos, carnival rides and midway, auctions and a parade all offering up the best in family entertainment -all for the under $10 price of an adult admission. Held annually at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds on Highway 36 South in Rosenberg, the fair is celebrating its 71st year of benefiting youth, promoting agriculture and supporting education, with this year's theme of "Blazing Trails, Supporting Youth." "The Fort Bend County Fair is a vital institution for supporting our youth," said A. J. Dorr, Fair Association president. "Because of the efforts of our staff, volunteers and literally, our entire community, we are able to help our youngsters blaze trails for their future by supporting them in their educational efforts." To date, the Fort Bend County Fair has provided over $9.2 million through its combined efforts of scholarships and auctions to support youth education in Fort Bend County. Concerts Cory Morrow with No Justice Presented by KMKS Hot Country 102.5: Kicking off the first Saturday of the fair is a concert by one of the most popular performers in Texas Music today - Cory Morrow. Celebrating his 10th year as a performer, Morrow brings fan favorites including "Nashville Blues," "Texas Time Travelin' Machine," and "Texas Bound Train," along with new songs from his anniversary CD aptly entitled Ten Years, which includes the first single to be released from the CD "I Don't Want To Get Up." No Justice will perform live on Saturday, Sept. 29 on the Budweiser Concert Stage at 9:30 p.m. opening for Morrow, who will take the stage at 11 p.m.Blake Shelton with The Triumphs: The second weekend of the fair brings more top artists and a local favorite with an artist whose debut single, "Austin," stayed at No. 1 on Billboard's singles chart for five weeks - Blake Shelton. Shelton's second hit, "The Baby," stayed at No. 1 for three weeks and his 2007 releases of "Don't Make Me" and "The More I Drink" are fast becoming fan favorites. Opening for Shelton is Fort Bend's original rock 'n roll band - The Triumphs. They will perform live on Saturday, Oct. 6 on the Budweiser Concert Stage at 10 p.m., opening for Shelton who will take the stage at 11:30 p.m. Other artists performing at the Fair include: Friday, Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. - The Emotions. Saturday, Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. - Jason Cassidy. Sunday, Sept. 30 - Chick-fil-A at Greatwood/Rosenberg Family Day; at noon, Contemporary Praise Band Focus On Him; and at 8:30 p.m, Tejano Music's Avizo. Friday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. - Habanero Hillbillies Band. Saturday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. - The Legacy Band with W. C. Todd.
