Local baby shower held for Melanie & Werth Garrett

A couples baby shower was held in honor of Melanie and Werth Garrett Saturday evening at the home of his grandmother, Elizabeth Skrovan of Hillje.

Floral arrangements of blue hydrangeas and other decorations carrying out the baby boy theme were used throughout the home.

The antique registry table held a diaper cake, decorated with useful items for the baby.

An outdoor fish fry with potato casserole, seasoned green beans, slaw and desserts were served to the 45 guests.

A special cake inscribed with "Congratulations- It's A Boy" was served.

Special guests were future maternal grandparents, Carol and David Simpson of Boling; future paternal grandparents, Sue Ferguson of Houston and Jeff Garrett of Johnson City; and future great-grandmother, Elizabeth Skrovan.

The eight hosts and hostesses were family members. They presented the parents-to-be with a car seat from their selection. Melanie and Werth reside in Pledger.
