Constitution Week observance kicks off with DAR luncheon

The Comfort Wood Chapter, DAR, began their week-long celebration of our Constitution by traveling to Bay City to a Constitution luncheon on Saturday.

The luncheon was hosted by the Mary Rolph Marsh Chapter and was held at the Bay City Country Club. Hazel Foltyn led the American's Creed. The guest speaker was Steven E. Reis, District Attorney of Matagorda County.

"He gave us insights into the difference in some word meaning 220 years ago and how we use the same word today," said Foltyn. "It was interesting and entertaining."

Each attendee received a Bay City pin, a Constitution Week magnet and a copy of the Preamble.

Those representing Comfort Wood were SeeWee Dupuy, Ann Gleason, Foltyn, Pat and Bill Sanders, Idanel Sellars and Annie Stafford.
