      St. Philip's A team took first place in the El Campo Middle School Volleyball Tournament Saturday. Wins over El Campo, Wharton and Palacios sealed the first-place trophy for the Pioneers. Pioneers 2, El Campo 1 St. Philip made a great comeback to top the Lady 'Birds in the first round.

EC JUNIOR VARSITY AND FRESHMAN FOOTBALL REPORT
      El Campo's junior varsity and freshman football teams each played in some good matches against Victoria Thursday. The sub-varsity squads played very competitive ball in their outings with the Vipers. Junior Varsity Team El Campo handled Victoria well and almost made the game seem easy.
