Party held for Murphy & Garcia

Valerie Murphy and Jason Garcia were honored with a miscellaneous shower Saturday morning at Christ Lutheran Church fellowship hall in El Campo.

Tables were elegantly decorated with white linen cloths with pink overlays and centered with a double heart candle holders.

The registry table held the guest book, a photograph of the couple and a pink kalanchoe plant.

Refreshments included a decorated cake inscribed "Congratulations Jason & Valerie," sherbet punch, quiche, muffins, cookies, fresh fruit, poppy seed dip, nuts and mints.

Special guests were Linda Garcia, mother of the future groom; JoAnn Zernicek and Lydia Yackel, aunts of the future groom; and Janey Mouret, godmother of the groom.

The 16 hostesses presented the couple with flatware and a blender.

Valerie and Jason's wedding date is set for Nov. 17, 2007.
