Zoe Schulz

Zoe Elizabeth Schulz, daughter of Jeffery and Shelly Schulz of Wharton, was baptized at 9 a.m., Sept. 23, 2007 at Christ Lutheran Church in El Campo with Pastor Art Weiss officiating. Zoe's godparents are her great-uncle Johnnie and greataunt Susan Hoelscher.

Zoe wore a white jumper with lace and bows given to her by her "Grandma Penny" and a white bonnet with lace trim given to her by her "G.G." Blumrick. The bonnet becomes a handkerchief to be used on her wedding day.

Breakfast was hosted by her parents after the ceremony at the church's fellowship hall. A decorated baptismal cake and yellow confection iced cupcakes in the shape of a cross were each inscribed with "God Bless Zoe." Other refreshments included cookies, fruit, coffee and punch.

Special guests were Susan Hoelscher and Michael and Karen Hoelscher, maternal grandparents; Gladys Blumrick and Tom and Judy Lovejoy, maternal great-grandparents; and Karen Schulz, paternal grandmother.

Gracyn Center

Brian and Karen Center of Garwood announce the birth of their second child, a daughter named Gracyn Elizabeth Center. The baby was born at 3:31 a.m., Sept. 8, 2007 at Christus St. Catherine Hospital in Katy weighing 8 pounds, 4.7 ounces and measuring 21 inches long.

She is welcomed home by a sister, McKinley Brooke Center, age 4.

Maternal grandparents are Max and Sandy Kattner of Houston. Paternal grandparents are Sam and Wanda Center of Cherokee.

Great-grandparents are T. J. Smith of Independence, Mo., and Lilly Kattner of Houston.

Blake Mieth

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Mieth Jr. of Cardington, Ohio announce the birth of their first child, a son named Blake Austin Mieth. The baby was born at 10:52 p.m., Sept. 2, 2007 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio weighing 8 pounds, 13 ounces.

Maternal grandparents are Helen and Scott A. Schmidt Sr. of Westerville, Ohio. Paternal grandparents are Mary Lou and Leonard J. Mieth Sr. of El Campo.

Great-grandparents are Cy and Evelyn Schmidt of Westerville, Ohio.

The mother is the former Christina Marie Schmidt.

Halling Smith Everett Smith Amelia Smith

Heather and Paul Smith of Bexley, Ohio announce the birth of their first children, triplets who were born Sept. 19, 2007, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Halling Neel Smith was born at 8:46 p.m. weighing 4 pounds, 6 ounces. Everett Charles Smith was born at 8:47 p.m. weighing 4 pounds, 12 ounces. Amelia Anne Smith was born at 8:48 p.m. weighing 4 pounds, 10 ounces.

Maternal grandparents are Leigh Ann and Lonnie Neel of El Campo. Paternal grandparents are Carolyn and Robert Smith of Drumright, Okla.

Great-grandparents are Norma Lee and Raymond Halling and Billy Ray Neel, all of El Campo.

The mother is the former Heather Nicole Neel.

Daylan Sless

Mr. and Mrs. Dustin Sless of El Campo announce the birth of their first child, a son named Daylan Wayne Sless. The baby was born at 6:05 p.m., Sept. 21, 2007, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces and measuring 19 1/2 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Everett and Annie Clark of El Campo. Paternal grandparents are David and Robin Sless of Louise.

Maternal great-grandfather is Matthew Klekar of Sherdian. Paternal great-grandparents are Shirley Popp of Louise and the late Wayne E. Popp; and Daniel and Wilma Sless of Ganado.

Paternal great-great-grandparents are Bill and Ruby Popp of Louise.

The mother is the former Catherine Ann Clark.
