Johnnie Trochta
Johnnie A. Trochta, 82, of El Campo, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007.
He was born Dec. 1, 1924 in League City to John and Frances Mozicek Trochta.
Mr. Trochta was associated with Butler Grimes and Ben Franklin Stores for 60 years.
He was a Navy veteran of WWII, a member of St. Philip Catholic Church, charter member of the Knights of Columbus in Freeport, member of the Knights of Columbus in El Campo since 1954, American Legion Post 251, charter member of the BEEs, former member of the Lions Club and Elks Lodge, and had served on the El Campo Planning and Zoning Board.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Rose Marie Nigh Trochta of El Campo; daughter, Phyllis Laughlin and husband Richard of Pearland; son, Michael Trochta and wife Jan of Bay City; grandchildren, Katie Mach and husband Kevin, Sara Laughlin and fiancée Adam Straznicky, Eric Trochta and Ryan Trochta; sisters, Annabelle Cornelson of El Campo, Emmadell McDonald of El Campo, Evelyn Thompson of Ganado, Dorothy Pospisil of El Campo; and brother, Jerry Trochta of Ganado.
The KC wake service was held Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be today, Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Janak officiating.
Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park under the direction of Triska Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Eric Trochta, Ryan Trochta, Kevin Mach, Adam Straznicky, Steve Petter, Richard Petter and Gary Petter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Philip Catholic Church or to donor's choice.
