EC Woman's Club plans workshop for M.D. Anderson

Members of the El Campo Woman's Club met Tuesday at the Country Club with the president, Dayle Aulds, stating her theme: "Women of Today, Making a Hope and Future."

Following the luncheon, pledges, roll and minutes were read. Other information included the treasurer's report by Evelyn Martin, and the "Smile Project" by Catherine Lundy who said 100 percent of the money collected goes to this project that helps children with facial abnormalities.

Yearbooks were given out and news of the upcoming state convention was shared. Members will also be meeting Oct. 2 at the home of Nancy Christenberry to work on M.D. Anderson projects.

The next meeting will be 2 p.m., Oct. 17 at Mary Lou Birkner's home where Patsy Korenek will present a program on identity theft, followed by "The economic future of El Campo given by Chandra Spenrath.

Officers for the coming year are Dayle Aulds, president; Jo Dennis, vice president and press reporter; Gloria Petersen, recording secretary and custodian of records; Evelyn Martin, treasurer; Nancy Christenberry, corresponding secretary; and Patsy Korenek, parliamentarian.
