Laura Marek

Laura Claire Marek, 59, of El Campo died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2007.

She was born May 2, 1948 to K.C. "Ted" Jr. and "Maggie" Mary Frnka Martin in El Campo. She was member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Ladies Bowling League.

She is survived by her husband, Kirk Marek of El Campo; daughter, Gina Bratton of Bryan; son, Kirk "Babe" Marek Jr. of El Campo; three grandchildren, Brani, Jenna and Brady Bratton; sisters, Vicki Canion of Port Lavaca and Linda Appling of Lumberton; and brother, Kirby Martin of Port Lavaca.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation was Friday, Sept. 28 starting at 1 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home, and the family received friends from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services are today, Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church with the Rev. Art Weiss officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Clint Canion, Martin Canion, Kirby Martin IV, Marcus Martin, Matthew Marek, Charley Appling, Todd Lundquist and Dr. Kyle Christenberry.

Memorial donations may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.

Arrangements were under the direction of Triska Funeral Home.
