Thieves nab $150K+ in farm tractors

El Campo police are looking for information and suspects in the theft of more than $150,000 in farm equipment from an El Campo business Friday.

Shoppa's Farm Supply, 1010 U.S. 59 West, reported the equipment missing from their lot Friday morning.

At this point there are no suspects and no leads.

The El Campo Police Department is hoping someone may have seen something suspicious between Tuesday and Friday on or around the lot.

Two 80-horsepower John Deere tractors with cabs were stolen along with three black tandem axle utility trailers, Store Manager Eric Burrows said Tuesday.

Trailers would have been needed to move the tractors, he said, adding the stolen ones would not have been sufficient to move the 10 foot tall pieces of equipment which are roughly 12 foot long.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the El Campo Police contact the El Campo Police Department at 543-5311. Sgt. Gary Williamson is handling the investigation.
