Green Thumbs welcome new members Green Thumb Garden Club members met at Margie Swoboda's house last Wednesday. Carolyn Goelzer presided with 18 members in attendance. Ramona Lesak will be collecting dues at the next meeting on Oct. 17 at Glenda Wendt's home. Ann Fuechec and Dayle Aulds were welcomed as new members. Sheets for the 2007-08 club year were distributed and reviewed for any corrections on addresses or phone numbers. It was noted the November meeting will be the second Wednesday. Janet Holub gave the horticulture report. The plant reported on was the crinum, a very hardy perennial that blooms from early spring until fall. They will not freeze and will grow in sun or shade. A salad and dessert luncheon followed. Florence Adamitis blessed the meal with the reading of an inspiration poem, "Yesterday." |
