Domino party held for seniors Forty senior citizens met at St. Mary's Parish Hall last Wednesday afternoon for visiting, playing dominos and refreshments of chicken salad sandwiches, spinach dip, chips, chocolate brownie cake and tea. Refreshments were served by Helen Noteboom, Leona Brzozowski, Rosemary Wied, Irene Seifert, Barbara Leopold and Anita Meismer. At the conclusion of the afternoon, domino winners were as follows: 42 hi-Leo Popp; low- Irene Fling; straight dominos- Leona Brzozowski, Irene Seifert, Viola Kaluza and Viola Frels' chicken foot- Cecelia Kallina; train- Paul Baumgarten, and the traveling prize was awarded to Josephine Becak. A donation was received from Lily Pinchback. Those attending sang "Happy Birthday" to Leona Brzozowski who celebrated a birthday during the month. Seniors 80 years of age and over were reminded of the Make-a-Difference Day party to be held in their honor on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Lehrer Memorial Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Garwood at 11 a.m. It was also noted that the next senior citizen party will be held on Halloween Day, Oct. 31 from 2-4:30 p.m. |
