City Arrests Alcohol, drugs

Michael Alan Acuna Jr., 19, of 207 E. Sixth was arrested at 1:58 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 on charges of minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage and assault bodily injury - family violence, after allegedly getting into a fight inside a vehicle and punching a woman in the nose. He was released at 10:48 a.m. the same day on $3,000 bond.

Bill Baker, 33, of 706 1/2 E. Jackson was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 on charges of possession of 2 ounces or less of marijuana, assaulting a public servant and disorderly conduct - language after police went to investigate a disturbance. Baker was released at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 on $12,500 bond.

Property

Cleveland Byron Crockett Jr., 30, of 1023 Kearney in Wharton was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 on three warrants for burglary of a vehicle while already in custody at the county jail on unrelated charges.

Violence, weapons

Roy Lynn Campbell Jr., 46, of 710 N. Mechanic was arrested at 10:11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 on charges of assault bodily injury - family violence and injury to the elderly - serious bodily injury, after allegedly pushing a woman and her 68-year-old mother to the ground during an argument, breaking the older woman's wrist. He was released at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 on $17,500 bond.

Leon Markel Lee, 24, of 602 Alamo was arrested at 10:08 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 on a charge of assault family violence - bodily injury after allegedly punching a woman in the face while holding a cell phone in his fist. He was held on $2,500 bond as of noon Thursday, Oct. 4.

Other

Kasheena Joshay Lathon, 21, of 1802 CR 257 in Eagle Lake was arrested at 9:55 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1 on a Wharton County warrant for bond forfeiture while already in custody locally. She was transferred to county jail the same day.

Wesley Henry Simmons Jr., 63, of 2404 N. Fulton in Wharton was arrested at 5:14 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 on charges of failure to identify, no white light on bicycle and driving on the wrong side of the road. He was transferred to county jail the same day.

Public intoxication: 2 Disorderly conduct: 2

Minor assault reports: El Campo area, 1.

City Incidents Property

Shironda Malone reported a vehicle burglary around 11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27. A total of $1,500 cash along with $40 in other merchandise were stolen at 908 McGrew.

Arlene Foley reported criminal mischief at Old Dudes Blues Bar, 104 Palacios, between 9 and 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30. Two tires valued at $200 were damaged on a tan Mercury.

Jail population as of Thursday, Oct. 4 was 125 prisoners.
