Joe & Gloria Konvicka celebrate birthdays with Hawaiian luau Joe and Gloria Konvicka were honored with a Hawaiian luau birthday party given by their daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Scott Privat Saturday at the home of Frankie and Carolyn Cernoch of El Campo. The honorees were celebrating milestones in their lives, with Gloria turning 60 on Sept. 30 and Joe turning 75 on Nov. 11. Joe and Gloria were presented with leis by their granddaughter, Haley Privat. The tables were decorated with green grass skirting, Hawaiian flowers and tiny umbrellas. The cake table was covered with a linen tablecloth with lace trim. It held the half chocolate and half white cake which was decorated in the island theme with the words "Happy Birthday Joe & Gloria" inscribed on it. Candles saying "60" and "75" were placed on each corner. Surrounding the cake were several sea shells, palm tree figurines and a figurine of a Hawaiian fisherman. A meal consisting of fried catfish, French fries, okra, lettuce salad, fruit salad, and several desserts were served to the guests. Guests attending were Scott, Katherine, Shane and Haley Privat of Baytown; George Voldan and fiancée Florence Henske of Eagle Lake, Frankie, Carolyn and Michael Cernoch; Henry, Sharon, Nicole, Jonathan Jace and Axel Voldan; Milton and Henrietta Machacek; Gary Heimann of El Campo; Stanley, Karen, Bryan, Steven and Joseph Voldan of Hillje; Wendy and Mark Olvera; Raymond Poncik of Louise; Heath, Mandy, Cayden Voldan and Cameron Cox of Wharton; Beverly and Richard Kolonko; Pam Stone, Paula, Phil and April Dellinger, all of Lake Jackson; Delaine, Jacob and Rylee Clifton of Clute; and Wilbur, Irene and Mary Kay Dittrich of Houston. |
