LHS girls stay in first with win Louise came away with an easy win Tuesday to remain undefeated in district volleyball play. The Lady Hornets traveled to Tivoli and came home with a 3-0 win and a 4-0 district record. Louise easily swept the match with wins of 25-4, 25-8 and 25-8. Sarah Williamson led the team with 12 kills while Katie Brown and Amber Bain both hit 4 and Amanda Popp hit 1 kill. Kirsten Machicek made 18 assists in the match while Beverly Holik made 1 assist. Bain led the Lady Hornets with 6 serving aces while Kierra Thornton served 3, Brown served 2 and Machicek served for 1 ace. Up next for the Lady Hornets is a home match with Pettus today. Pettus is tied with Runge for second place in district with 3-1 records and is the only team Louise has yet to play in district. A win would put the Lady Hornets at a perfect 5-0 in the first half of district with 5 games left to play before the post-season begins. After the Pettus match, the Lady Hornets will travel to Nordheim Tuesday. The Lady Hornets return to host Woodsboro Oct. 12 for homecoming. |
