El Campo Middle School's seventhand

eighth-grade volleyball teams made it a clean sweep of Lamar Junior High Sept. 27.

8th Grade Red

The Lady 'Birds defeated Lamar 27-25 and 25-14.

Megan Calhoun led El Campo with 7 points. Meredith Jeane, Sarah Supak and Breana Johnson each scored 4 points, Kaleigh Montalvo scored 3, Catherine Villalobos and Ja'vonna George both scored 2 and Lexus Pleasant scored 1 point.

8th Grade White

El Campo followed up a close 26- 24 loss in game one with two wins to claim the match. The Lady 'Birds defeated Lamar 25-22 and 25-19 to win the match 2-1.

Jenny Johnson scored a teamhigh 10 points in the win. Kara Mc- Crary scored 8 points, Leslie Martin and Brook Staff both scored 7, Marilyn Almanzar scored 5, Aubrey Garcia scored 2 and Graciela Trejo and Heather Tice both scored 1 point.

7th Grade Red

The Lady 'Birds came through with a 2-1 win over Lamar.

After winning the first game 25- 8, Lamar rallied for a 25-10 win. El Campo broke the 1-1 tie with a 25-12 score in game three for the match win.

Sharanda Finlay led the Lady 'Birds with 22 points in the match while Hannah Weinheimer scored 9, Megan Tolson scored 5, Carlee Skinner and Selena Delpena both scored 4 and Jenna Ortiz scored 3 points.

7th Grade White

After a 27-25 loss in game one, El Campo made a stern turnaround. The Lady 'Birds showed great determination and easily defeated Lamar in the remaining two games, 25-13 and 25- 16.

Katie Weisner scored a team-high 19 points for the match. Laroysha Robinson scored 10 points, Alexis Flores scored 9, Karleigh Krpec scored 7, Khadijah Martin scored 6, Ebonee Robinson, Tyann Rheinschmidt both scored 5 points.
