LETTERS TO THE EDITOR The family of Fred Barbee wants to thank you for all your kindness and generosity of spirit. And to the Revs. Joyce McCormick and Dick Gould as well as pianist Ted Lashley and vocalist Chris McCormick, thank you for one of the most beautiful services anyone has ever been to - many people said it was the most beautiful, joyous they'd ever heard. It was a true celebration of the life of a man who enjoyed every minute of his. We lost our dear husband, father, grandfather and friend (not an employer for we have no employees only dear friends), but we did not lose his ability to see good in any situation and humor at the most difficult of times. He was that way to the end. It was a struggle for him, but by gesture and sometimes even a little joke, he came through to the end. We do not grieve. We honor him with joy. We had him for many years and we are grateful. We honor him by a laugh, a twinkle in the eye at a remembered gesture by him. We are not without him. He is with us always. We love you all for all you did for us and the honor you paid him.We will not forget the many kindnesses you gave. And dear Aggie friends - please be kind - the last song sung was The Eyes of Texas Peggy Barbee and family |
