Alleged treats and violence are among the reasons several Wharton County residents will be facing felony trial soon.

A grand jury indictment is not an indication of guilt, but rather a citizen judgment allowing a prosecutor to proceed with felony charges.

Those indicted during late September Wharton County Grand Jury deliberations include:

• James Earl Roberts aka James Earl Baylor, 38, of 507 Ave. A in El Campo for assault family violence. He allegedly struck a female family member in the face on May 10.

Roberts has prior family code violation convictions as well as felony convictions for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and burglary of a building.

• Marvin Earl Smith Jr., 34, of 1717 Briar Lane #607 in Wharton for aggravated assault. He allegedly punched and kicked a man April 21 breaking his jaw. Smith has prior felony convictions for criminal mischief, burglary of a building and escape.

• John Langley Woodley, 31, of 134 Woodcreek in Kerrville for retaliation. He allegedly threatened an El Campo police officer and his girlfriend on June 26.Woodley has two prior felony convictions for possession of a controlled substance.

• Danny Louis Flores, 40, of CR 116 in Lane City for driving while intoxicated. He allegedly drove drunk on Aug. 12 and has two prior misdemeanor DWI convictions.
