COURT REPORTS

Alleged drunken driving, burglary and an allegation of dousing a computer with bleach are among the reasons several Wharton County residents will be facing felony trial soon.

A grand jury indictment is not an indication of guilt, but rather a citizen judgment allowing a prosecutor to proceed with felony charges.

Those indicted during late September Wharton County Grand Jury deliberations include:

• Kris Lee Bentacur, 23, of 501 W. Willow #21 in Wharton for criminal mischief. He allegedly poured bleach and laundry detergent over a computer, printer and clothing owned by a woman on June 24 destroying more than $1,500 in property.

• Mark Audwin Brown Jr., 25, of 11849 Flemming in Houston for burglary of a building. He allegedly broke into a building to steal cigarettes on May 25.

Brown has prior felony convictions for evading arrest and burglary of a building.

• Milton Bryant Jr., 24, of 1510 Barfield #36 in Wharton for assault family violence. He allegedly grabbed a woman by the arm and threw her on June 29.

Bryant has prior offenses under the family code.

• Oscar Daniel Garcia, 23, of P.O. Box 291 in Boling for burglary of a habitation. He allegedly broke into a rural home on Aug. 13.

• Rodolfo Garcia, 36, of 2725 Kenny Circle #72 in Ingleside for driving while intoxicated. He allegedly drove drunk on Feb. 4. He has two prior misdemeanor DWI convictions and three prior DWI convictions at the felony level.

• Shawn Garcia, 17, of 212 Moutray in Wharton for possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly had less than one gram of cocaine on Aug. 9.

• Brittany Sierra Guthrie, 18, of 1309 Westgate in Wharton for criminal mischief. She allegedly scratched an automobile causing more than $1,500 damage on May 16.
