Bill & Gertrude Burrow celebrate 60 years of matrimony

Bill and Gertrude Burrow celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception and dinner at Mikeska's BBQ Banquet Room Saturday from 3-7 p.m.
The couple's children hosted the party. They include Barclay Burrow and wife Melanie of Fort Worth, Joyclyn Marek and husband Andrew of Bellaire, Leonard Burrow and wife Cheryl of Houston and Eric Burrow and wife Kathy of El Campo.
The registration table included a photo of the honored couple. Centerpieces and tea light candles accented throughout the room.
A 60th wedding anniversary cake was accented with flowers.
The couple spent time visiting among the many friends and family members, followed by a video presentation of "60 togetherness years." Dinner followed.
The couple's children served as members of the house party.
Bill Burrow and Gertrude Bremser were married Oct. 11, 1947 at Holy Family Church in Wharton by Father Campbell. Arthur Bremser, brother of the bride, served as a witness for the couple at their wedding.
They made their first home in Wharton, then in Angleton, Texas City, El Campo, Hallettsville and then in the Ezzell Community.
Bill is retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone and Gertrude is retired from Wilbur Willis where she was an office manager.
