Veselkas celebrate 50th anniversary

Jerome and Theresa Veselka celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday afternoon at the Hillje Parish Hall. The couple's children and grandchildren hosted the special occasion.

Their children include Doug and Donna (Kutach) Veselka; Kathy (Veselka) Foster and husband Joe; Andy and Debbie (Hrncir) Veselka; and Carol (Veselka) Huffman and husband Charlie. Grandchildren are Daniel and Derrek Veselka; Ryan and Todd Foster; Brittany, Joshua and Chelsea Veselka; and Elizabeth Huffman. Great-grandchild is Tanner Veselka.

Jerome Veselka and Theresa Gabrysch were united in marriage Oct. 7, 1957 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna. The Rev. Baltasar Janacek performed the ceremony.

The couple made their first home in Louise until 1968 when the moved to their present home in Hillje.

Jerome is retired from The First State Bank of Louise where he was employed for more than 40 years. Theresa is retired from Wharton County Precinct 3 where she was a Justice of Peace secretary.
