Advocates hold Life Chain

Members of the El Campo Life Advocates met Wednesday evening at the Charlie Merta residence with six members in attendance. Mary Lou Winship was welcomed as a new member.

"The group's Life Chain held this past Sunday in downtown El Campo was a huge success with more than 70 people participating," said member Barbara Milder. "Free pro-life T-shirts and bumper stickers were distributed to many of them."

Members discussed the possibility of holding mini-life chains once a month, similar to those being held monthly by the Life and Family Advocates in Victoria.

"During Life Chain, participants pray and hold paper signs with wording such as 'Abortion Kills Children,'" Milder said.

Members voted to change the meetings to every other month, on the first Monday at 6 p.m. The next meeting will be Dec. 3. Call Ella at 543-3403 if interested in attending.
