COURT REPORTS

Prison and probationary terms were meted out in Wharton County's 329th District Court during recent plea bargain agreements.

Those pleading either guilty or no contest before Judge Randy Clapp included:

• James Dean Anderson, 26, address unavailable for possession or transport of anhydrous ammonia and use of or tampering with equipment. He was placed on three years deferred probation and ordered to serve 90 days in the county jail as a condition of the probation.

Anderson must also perform 60 hours of community service.

With the deferred probation, the conviction won't be held against him if he is able to complete all terms.

• Fidel Palestino Rodriguez, 35, address unavailable for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger. He was placed on two years probation, fined $750 and ordered to perform 120 hours community service.

As a condition of probation, Rodriguez must serve 10 days in county jail, have his driver's license suspended for six months and install an interlock device in his vehicle.

• Reginald Lynn Austin, 38, of 1510 Connie in Wharton for assault - family violence. He was placed on three years probation and ordered to serve 30 days in county jail.

• Kenneth Ray Johse Jr., 24, of 608 Speed in Wharton for assault - family violence. He was placed on 10 years deferred probation and fined $400.

• Alexander Smith, 31, address unavailable for aggravated assault. He was sentenced to two years in prison.

In separate court actions, his probation for two counts of burglary of a habitation convictions was revoked and he was sentenced to two concurrent two-year terms.

• Gregorio Zambrano, 26, of 11327 Hwy. 60 South in Wharton for fraud. He was placed on two years deferred probation and fined $250.

• Cory Eugene Goodall, 27, of 4109 E. Watt in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to

Augustine Mendoza, 40, of Rt. 1, Box 98A in Louise was arrested at 7:37 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 on three warrants for no insurance, two warrants for public intoxication, two warrants for assault by contact and a warrant for speeding. He remained in custody at presstime.

Public intoxication: 4.

Minor assault reports: El Campo area, 1.

City Incidents Property

Victoria Vasquez reported vandals did $750 damage to a vehicle parked at 710 McGrew between 12:15 and 1:20 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.

Julia Loredo reported theft of a $162 Sony electronic device while at Mr. Gatti's Pizza, 1202 N. Mechanic, between 9 and 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20.

Jessica Hernandez reported burglars took $300 in jewelry, a $150 cell phone and a game system worth $129 from 510 Alamo between 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 and 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15.

Narciso Pena reported burglars took six fishing rods and reels worth $800 from a vehicle parked at 406 Higbee between 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 and 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.

County Incidents Property

Ginger Kacel reported theft of two female yellow Labrador retrievers, ages 1 and 6, and one 6-year-old male black Lab from 586 Lakeview Lane in El Campo between 6:50 and 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8.

Gerardo Aguilar reported theft of a Poulan push mower worth $241 from 1106 Olivia in El Campo at 6:33 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Three people reported being assaulted in the roadway of Hwy. 71 South near the D&D Store around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4. A 26-year-old El Campo man reported aggravated assault against himself and a 2-year-old boy while a 34-year-old woman reported aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Jail population as of 11:30 a.m. Monday was 132 prisoners.
