Cub Scout Pack discovers history of area train museum

Cub Scout Pack 1249 participated in activities during two fun-filled weekends in September.

One weekend they toured the Train Museum in Rosenberg.

They learned about the history of Rosenberg, and viewed the different equipment used to run the railroad, a model train that runs, and a passenger car.

The last Saturday of the month they visited Mauritz Camp in Ganado.

They began the day with a ceremony and history of the flag led by the Allen Collins, a local Boy Scout leader. The group also enjoyed fishing, hiking, crafts, experiments and games.

Boy Scouts hosted the event with the leadership of Barbara Knudsen and Susie Orsak. "They did a great job and boys had a great time hanging out with their families," said Dawn Collins, Cubmaster Pack 1249.

Cub Scouts included Lucas Rodriguez, Robert Sosa III, Sawyer Schoenfield, Travis Collins, Zachary Collins, Dakota Rodriguez, Joseph Rosniak and Trevor Volkert.
