Jennifer Bubela & Bradley Hubenak wed at 1st Baptist

Jennifer Salee Bubela and Bradley Wade Hubenak were united in marriage at 3:30 p.m., Oct. 13, 2007, at First Baptist Church in El Campo. The Rev. Richard DuBroc performed the double-ring ceremony. The music for the ceremony was performed by organist Carolyn Goelzer, soloists Robert and Marie Hrncir and Kyle Poenitzsch.
A reception followed at the Wharton Civic Center in Wharton. Guests danced to music provided by Alys Piloto and Rudy Ochoa. On the eve of the wedding, there was a rehearsal dinner at the Muldoon's Saloon.
The bride is the daughter of Debbie and Eugene Bubela Jr. of El Campo. She is the granddaughter of Bernice and W.P. Alexander and Leona and Eugene Bubela Sr., all of El Campo. The groom is the son of Debbie and Tommie Hubenak of El Campo. He is the grandson of Evelyn Rutledge and the late Red Rutledge and Verna Hubenak and the late J.V. Hubenak, all of El Campo.
The bride wore an Allure bridal dress of white silk duchess satin with a jeweled strapless bodice, satin tiers throughout the skirt, and a sweeping train. She wore a two-layered veil, both accented with crystals and she wore matching crystal jewelry. She carried a bouquet of red roses, hypericum and eucalyptus seed, accented with taupe crystals throughout.
Nicole Poenitzsch of Sealy, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor and Lauren Bubela of Huntsville, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Stacie Hubenak, sister of the groom, and Bonnie Matthews, friend of the bride, both of Houston; Tara Hodges of Waco and Deborah Stevens of Denver, Colo., both friends of the bride. The bride was also attended by Paige Rutledge of El Campo, cousin of the groom, who served as a junior bridesmaid, and Katelyn Swoboda, cousin of the groom, as the flower girl.
The bridesmaids wore chocolate brown dupioni Diana dresses from the Ann Taylor Celebration collection. They each carried a single long stemmed red rose tied with champagne and chocolate organza ribbon accented with taupe crystals. The mother of the bride wore a champagne Italian lace dress designed by Avanti and the mother of the groom wore a jewel tone taffeta dress of the T. Carolyn private collection.
James Merta of Shelby, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Kevin Dluhos of Houston; Kyle Savino, Dickie Merta, Michael Kasper and Phillip Leopold, all of El Campo, all friends of the groom. Cole Curlee of Wharton, friend of the bride, and Cole Riha of El Campo, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearers. Ushers were Kevin Poenitzsch of Sealy and Josh Phillips and Cline Johnson of El Campo.
The gentleman wore Calvin Klein classic double button black tuxedos, with the groom wearing a Spectrum champagne vest, and the groomsmen wearing Spectrum silver vests.
The bride graduated from El Campo High School and Baylor University, where she obtained her bachelor of business degree in marketing and management and was President of the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity. She is currently employed as a landman with OGM Land, Inc. The groom graduated from El Campo High School and is currently employed by J.P. Appling Cattle Company.
Jennifer and Brad will make their home in El Campo.
