DIAPER SET Addyson Fucik Addyson Leona Fucik, the daughter of Chad and Amy Fucik of Garwood, was baptized at 6 p.m., Oct. 13, 2007 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. The Rev. Gary Janak performed the sacrament of baptism. Addyson's godparents are Brent and Charlotte Schneider. She wore a baptism gown passed down from the Abell family that is more than 75- years-old. A reception and dinner followed at the grandparents' home, Tim and Sheryl Carnes of Garwood. A dinner of chicken spaghetti with side dishes were served along with a baptism cake. Special guests were the great-grandmothers, Leona Abell of Garwood and Annie Fucik of New Taiton; and the grandparents, Tim and Sheryl Carnes of Garwood, Larry and Lynn Fucik of El Campo and Linda Baisa of El Campo. Addyson received money, savings bonds, crosses and a child's Bible. Bryson Malik Bryson Kane Malik, son of Michael and Kimberly Malik of West Columbia, was baptized at 1:30 p.m., Aug. 6, 2007 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in West Columbia. Father Ralph Roberts performed the sacrament of baptism. Bryson's godparents are Chat Ott and Diane Eubanks. He wore a white baptism outfit trimmed in baby blue. His parents hosted a barbecue dinner after the ceremony at their home. The menu included barbecued country-style ribs, beans and potato salad. A baptism cake was trimmed in yellow with a cross in the center. Special guests were Brian and Gayle Nabbs of Lufkin and August and Kathy Malik of El Campo, grandparents; Melissa Otradovsky of El Campo and Diane Eubanks of Palestine, aunts; Chad Ott of Victoria, Cale and Coby Otradovsky of El Campo, Jessica, Meghan and Logan Eubanks of Palestine, cousins; Audrey Wilson of Louise, great-grandmother; Lori and Dwayne Kahanek of El Campo, Cricket Ott and Shelly Bram of Corpus Christi, and Larry Wilson of Louise, great-aunts and great-uncles. Bryson received the baptismal outfit from his grandparents, Brian and Gayle Nabbs. He received a hand-made blanket from his grandparents, August and Kathy Malik. From his aunt Diane and uncle Sean Eubanks, he received a crucifix and frame. He received a silver picture frame from his greatgrandmother, Audrey Wilson; and a silver cup engraved with his initials from his greatgrandmother, Eleanor Nabbs. He also received numerous other gifts from various people. |
