Graduates of the El Campo High School Class of 1952 gathered for their 55th reunion Saturday at the Elks Lodge.

The group began the afternoon with a tour of the El Campo Branch Library, which was their old high school. Next they headed to the present high school campus where teacher Debbie Hamman served as their tour guide, then to the Boys & Girls Club as Bonnie Collins gave a tour of The Northside Center. The group continued with a downtown bus tour to view the murals, then back to the Elks Lodge for a roast beef and chicken breast dinner buffet that evening.

Reuben Brown led the group in a prayer. A cake donated by Shirley Brady Nordeen was decorated on top with a photograph of the graduating class.

One classmate, John Glasgow, traveled from El Prodo, N.M. to attend. Ann Webb Brown handed out crossstitched framed plaques with "ECHS, 1952-2007." They were made by Shirley Chomout Schneider.

The classmate who responded first with his registration was Jack Lippmann. The couple with the oldest great-grandchild was Donald and Wanda Aber Brod. Noted as changing the least was Margie Joiner Reber. Changing in appearance the most was Betty Taylor Hoffman. The couple who had the youngest grandchild was Henry and Carolyn Gattis Halamicek. Additional door prizes were also drawn for.

Music from the 1950s played in the background. The hall was decorated with red and white tablecloths, Ricky Ricebird, red carnations and red and white candy. Everyone also received a red ink pen with white letters: "ECHS 55th Class Reunion 1952-2007."
