Velma Stansberry

Velma L. Stansberry, 81, of Houston, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007.

She was born March 5, 1926 in West Columbia.

Survivors include her son, James Edgar Stansberry and wife, Faye of Castroville; grandchildren, Darrin Stansberry and wife Kelly, Lance Stansberry .and wife Amber, Wendy Bonner and husband, Jimmy and Nathan Stansberry; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Prell and wife, Charlene of Pasadena; sisters, Vivian Brewton and Naomi Stansberry of Boling; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Stansberry; and grandson, Sean Stansberry.

Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel in West Columbia with the Rev. Richard Dubroc officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Baker Funeral Home, 634 S. Columbia Dr., West Columbia.
