LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Dinner glitch elicits apology
Editor, the Leader-News:

On behalf of the El Campo Youth Soccer League and the Boys & Girls Club of El Campo I offer my deepest thanks along with my most sincere apology.

While Monday's Chicken Strip dinner was headed towards being a huge success with 900 meals served, we overestimated the projections for unreturned tickets and ultimately ran out of food close to 6 p.m.

This was an issue that affected potentially dozens of people that were waiting in line to receive their meal. I cannot apologize enough to those that were not served a meal that they paid for.

While I cannot change what did happen, I can offer three things to those that were affected:

1) A refund - Please call the club at 543-8320 and we will refund your contribution for the dinner tickets ASAP.

2) A free meal - We have purchased enough passes for one free large pizza at Mr. Gatti's for each person that was not served their meal. These will be available at the club when you come to pick up your refund.

3) A promise - We'll learn from our mistakes so that this will never happen again. We are always seeking to improve and make things better for the future. If you have ideas that you would like to share or comments, please call me directly at the club.

Again, I want to thank the volunteers and more than 900 people that helped support the El Campo Youth Soccer League with this fundraiser. It is due to your support and generosity that we are able to have 275 kids playing soccer this year.

For the kids,

Mike Perry Chief Professional Officer
