Alcohol, drugs

Jim Leroy Phillips, 49, of 906 Ave. C was arrested at 9:43 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 on charges of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. He was arrested in his car just before police went to serve a search warrant at his home, where they allegedly found 80 grams of methamphetamine, four digital scales, just over $1,000 in cash and several firearms, which as a convicted felon, Phillips is not allowed to possess. He was transferred to Wharton County Jail the next day.

James William Lacour Jr., 29, of 613 W. Norris was arrested at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 on warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia and no insurance and charges of expired motor vehicle inspection and expired registration. He was released the same day after paying $957.50 in fines.

Property

Max Garza Jr., 44, of 1036 Ellwood was arrested at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15 on a Brazoria County warrant for theft by check. He was released the same day on $500 bond.

Jenni Nicole Moreno, 20, of 302 Tallow Lane was arrested at 9:34 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 on a warrant for theft. She was released at 11:55 a.m. the same day on $1,500 bond.

Violence, weapons

Gabriel Macias, 40, of 608 1/2 August was arrested at 4:39 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15 on a warrant for aggravated sexual assault. He was held on $75,000 bond as of noon Thursday, Oct. 18.

A 15-year-old El Campo boy was arrested at 4:37 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 on charges of resisting arrest, criminal trespass, failure to identify, disrupting public transportation and disorderly conduct - language.

He allegedly threw a bottle from a school bus, wouldn't leave the bus when a principal asked him to, then did the same when police arrived. He also allegedly wouldn't give his name and cursed in front of other students. He was released to a relative the same day.

Other

Richard Barrera Jr., 40, of 505 S. Ford in Wharton was arrested at 4:47 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 on warrants for failure to appear and no seatbelt. He was released the same day after paying $370.50 in fines.

Mario Everett Garcia, 24, of 620 Doris was arrested at 3:59 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 on a Wharton County warrant for probation violation and charges of driving while license invalid or revoked, parked in roadway, unrestrained child under age 4 and no seatbelt. He was held without bond as of noon Thursday, Oct. 18.

Bernard Salinas, 48, of 817 CR 469 in El Campo was booked at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 for driving while intoxicated. He was released at 11:15 a.m. the next day on $1,500 bond.
