Dracula to descend on the Plaza

In 1927, Bela Lugosi swept onto the Broadway stage in the title role of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Four years later he brought the terrifying Transylvanian to life in the classic motion picture and created an enduring movie icon.

The Plaza Theatre on the Square invites you to its recreation of that event as the Footeliters celebrate the haunting season, Oct. 19-28.

The latest technology of 1927 will be on display as the Count mysteriously appears and disappears and terrifies poor Lucy in the form of a bat.

Theatergoers who come in costume may win prizes. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. on Fridays, Oct. 19 and 26, and Saturday, Oct. 20; and 2:30 p.m. on Sundays, Oct. 21 and 28.

For extra fun, the performance will start at 10 p.m. on Oct. 27, the Saturday before Halloween.

General admission is $10, and tickets for seniors, students and groups of ten or more are $8 each. For reservations or tickets, please visit www. whartonplazatheatre.org, or call 979- 282-2970.
