Take a glimpse into the past at Texian Market Texian Market Days has grown into a favorite fall tradition. For 24 years, Texans (long-time residents, new neighbors and "temporary" Texans) have gathered at the Fort Bend County Museum Association's Annual Texian Market Days to enjoy a living view of Texas' past. The festival will be held Oct. 26-27, at the George Ranch Historical Park near Crabb, which is located 5 miles outside of Richmond. Activities include battle re-enactments, live music, cowboy demonstrations, children's activities, farm animals, an antique tractor show, interactive living history exhibits with costumed interpreters and guided historic home tours. Guests may also browse the Texian Arts and Crafts Marketplace which features items provided by regional craftsmen, artisans and gourmets. Texian Market Days is a celebration of Texas history that includes costumed historical interpreters and volunteers presenting vignettes of daily lives and heroic moments from the early days in Stephen F. Austin's colony (1830s) through the late years of the Great Depression and World War II (1940s) Also, enjoy toe-tapping to old-time tunes, an antique tractor show and pull (in collaboration with the Texas Antique Tractor Pull Association), arts and crafts from around the region at the Texian Market Place and so much more. Texian Market Days is a fund-raising event supporting the educational programs of the Fort Bend County Museum Association, including the George Ranch Historical Park and the Fort Bend Museum. Festival hours are from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.Advanced tickets through Oct. 25 are $8 for adults and $4 for children. To order them, call 281-342-1256.
